Giving up your pet

Do you need to find a new home for your pet?
Sometimes people need to make the heart-breaking decision to give up a pet they once thought was a forever part of their family. If you feel, after much thought and effort to try and remedy the reason(s) why you must find a new home for your pet, please review the lists below.

PLEASE DO NOT let your pet loose outside hoping someone will find a home for you. You would not believe the stories I hear about litters of puppies and kittens being left by dumpsters. Unbelievable and avoidable. If you are at a loss for what to do, please contact us
for help.

Animal Shelters and Rescue Organizations
Taking your pet to the local shelter is often the first option people in your position think about because it is convenient. Due to the over-population epidemic, shelters are often full and they must turn animals away. If after trying shelters and/or rescue organizations you have no luck, please consider keeping your pet for a little while longer and participating in our Peer to Peer Adoption program.

"Can't we work things out? I don't want to go to a shelter and I need a home just as much as you do."

Peer to Peer Adoption Program
Shelters are a great place to take an animal you can no longer care for, but often they are full and simply cannot accept anymore animals. A caring person attempts to do the right thing, but now feels stuck. Our Peer to Peer Adoption program attempts to connect people who need to find a new home for their pet with those who are looking for a lifetime companion. Click the button to find out more!
